Encoders, generators and lookups
The everyday developer utilities on Nouplo in one place: encoding and decoding, hashes, passwords and IDs, web and network references, and cron schedules and timestamps. They run in your browser, so tokens and passwords stay on your machine.
Encode and decode
∿ Base64 Convert text to Base64 and back, with correct UTF-8 handling and an optional URL-safe alphabet. ⛓ URL encoder / decoder Percent-encoding both ways, worked out as you type. ‹› HTML entities Escaped so it shows, or decoded so you can read it. ♭ JWT Decoder Paste a JSON Web Token and read its header and claims. The token never leaves your browser. ⛓ Query string parser The parameters of a URL, one per line. ∿ Number base converter 0x2F is 47, and nobody remembers that. ⛓ Slug generator Titles in, URLs out. ∿ ASCII and Unicode table The code for a character, or the character for a code. ∿ Image tools Image to base64 A picture you can paste into a stylesheet. ∿ Text tools Text to binary converter Letters to ones and zeros — and back again.
Hashes, passwords and IDs
# Hash Generator Get the MD5, SHA-1 or SHA-2 digest of any text, computed on your device. ♭ Password generator Made on your device, by the browser's cryptographic generator. Nothing is sent anywhere. 🔒 Password strength checker How long it would actually hold up. ♭ bcrypt hash checker Does this password match this hash? ♭ htpasswd generator The line Apache wants, hashed on your own machine. • UUID Generator Create UUID v4 or v7 identifiers in bulk, generated on your device with a secure random source. # Converters File checksum Does this download match what it should be?
Web and network
⛶ What is my IP The address websites see when you connect. ⛶ Subnet calculator What that slash actually covers. ⛶ HTTP status codes What the number means, and when to send it. ⛶ HTTP headers What the header does, and what people get wrong about it. ∿ MIME types What to put in Content-Type, and what happens when it is wrong. ☐ User-Agent parser Past the compatibility lies, to what it actually is. 🔒 chmod calculator 755 one way, rwxr-xr-x the other.
Cron and timestamps
▤ Cron expression generator A schedule in words, an expression out. ◴ Cron Parser See 0 */6 * * 1-5 as the dates it will actually run, and what each field allows. ▤ Cron every 5 minutes It is */5 * * * *, and here is why. ▤ Cron every 15 minutes It is */15 * * * *, at :00, :15, :30 and :45. ▤ Cron every hour It is 0 * * * *, on the hour, not * * * * *. ▤ Cron every day at midnight It is 0 0 * * *, in the machine’s own timezone. ▤ Cron on weekdays It is 0 9 * * 1-5 — Monday to Friday at nine. ▤ Cron once a week It is 0 0 * * 0 — Sunday at midnight. ▤ Cron once a month It is 0 0 1 * * — the 1st, at midnight. ▤ Timestamp Converter Paste an epoch value or a date and see it in UTC, local time and ISO 8601.
Frequently asked questions
- Are passwords, tokens and hashes generated on a server?
- No. Passwords and UUIDs are drawn from your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, and hashing, bcrypt checks and JWT decoding run in the page. Nothing you paste or generate is sent anywhere.
- Does the JWT decoder verify the signature?
- It decodes the header and the payload so you can read them; a token’s contents are only encoded, not encrypted, which is exactly why it is worth reading one before trusting it. Check the signature with the key in your own code.
- What does the IP page send?
- To show your public address the page has to ask a server, which sees the address anyway when it answers; it is not stored. Everything else in this collection works without a server.
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no account and nothing to install.
